Shield Powers Through at GAS Motorshow International 2026
The Shield team recently headed down to Durban for one of South Africa’s biggest automotive lifestyle events – the GAS Motorshow International 2026 – and what a weekend it was!
Preparation: More Than 100 Hours of Dedication
Preparing for an event of this scale doesn’t happen overnight.
In the lead-up to the show, a dedicated team spent three full days meticulously detailing our three display vehicles, investing more than 100 man-hours in the process. Anyone who has prepared a vehicle for exhibition knows that show-car detailing is an art form requiring patience, precision and an uncompromising attention to detail. Every panel, wheel, trim piece and finishing touch received the care needed to ensure the cars looked their absolute best under the bright lights of the show floor.
Once the vehicles were show-ready, they were carefully loaded onto trailers and transported overnight from Gauteng to Durban, ready to take centre stage at Suncoast Casino.
GAS Motorshow International Delivers Once Again
Held at Suncoast Durban on 13 and 14 June 2026, GAS Motorshow International once again proved why it has become one of Africa’s premier automotive and lifestyle festivals. The event attracted massive crowds, with organisers anticipating attendance in excess of 30,000 spectators across the weekend. The show featured everything from supercars and custom builds to drifting displays, stunt driving, music performances and international guests.
The Shield stand was buzzing throughout the weekend as visitors stopped by to experience the brand, engage with the team and learn more about our extensive range of products.
Social Media Competition Creates Excitement
Leading up to the event, we also hosted an exciting competition on our social media platforms, giving followers the opportunity to win 2 x VVIP tickets to the show.
Two lucky winners and their guests were selected, giving them the opportunity to enjoy the ultimate GAS experience with premium access to one of South Africa’s most exciting motoring events.
