2nd Overall Class D – Modified Production Cars (Clubmans)
Thank you to the Shield Team for making this all possible! I came up just short of winning Class D in the championship by a couple of points as a result of ruling by MSA on the day.
Running in a time based series makes it extremely difficult to keep within a time bracket when the margin for error is within a tolerance of 0.25 seconds to either get kicked out of the class or receive a grid penalty for the next race. The last race at Redstar didn’t go as expected as I needed to win both heats. Due to technical difficulties with grid positioning on the day it was an extremely difficult feat and I only managed to win one of the heats. Not for a lack of trying and it was absolutely heartbreaking for the team who had put so much time and effort into the car.
I look forward to turning the tables in 2020! Thank you for all your support in 2019. We are going back to the drawing board to reassess our 2019 and to readjust our vision for 2020.
The 2020 season kicks off in February and I have a few tricks up my sleeve to get the Shield Golf across the line in the hopes of winning a championship that has been eluding us for the last couple of years and ending up second on too many occasions.
Wishing you all the best in 2020 and look forward to seeing you at the track soon!
